ABOUT US

Harper's Health & Wellness

Harper’s Health & Wellness is built on decades of showing up for the same community. Our roots go back to 1966, when Clyde Harper Sr. opened his first business, an ice cream parlor and candy shop that quickly became a neighborhood staple. It wasn’t fancy. It didn’t need to be. People came because they were treated right.

In the 1970s, that spirit grew into Harper’s Food Shop at Lexington & Vanderventer in St. Louis. Fresh groceries. Everyday essentials. Familiar faces behind the counter. Later, in the early 2000s, Walter James Harper expanded the family footprint with Harper’s #2 in Wellston, adding hot meals, package liquor, and a full kitchen. Same idea. Bigger reach.

Harper’s Health & Wellness is the next chapter. Led by Clyde Harper Sr.’s daughter and grandsons, we’ve shifted toward holistic wellness as the community's needs have changed. Folks started asking better questions. About sleep. About anxiety. About pain that just won’t quit.

Now we offer 100% natural products designed to support real lives. Not miracle claims. Not trendy buzzwords. Just options, guidance, and the kind of honesty you don’t find in big-box aisles. We’re proud to serve Florissant, and we plan to keep doing it the right way.

Why Choose Us

Why People Stick with Harper’s

Because this isn’t a guessing game, and it’s definitely not a hard sell.
01
You’ll talk to someone who listens, then suggests, not pushes.
02
Same family. Same values. Over 50 years deep.
03
If it’s not clean and plant-based, it’s not on our shelves.
04
We’ve served Florissant long before “wellness” was trendy.
05
Customers come in wired. They leave breathing more slowly.
06
The kind that helps you stay asleep, not stare at the ceiling.
07
Without the fog. Without the dependency.
08
Sometimes we’ll say, “This might not be for you.” And mean it.
